Bar Chart Panel

The Bar Chart Panel displays data in a bar format, allowing for easy comparison of values across categories. The panel includes a query box to define the specific data you want to visualize. It also provides a range of customization options, enabling you to transform data, adjust axis labels, and add annotations to enhance data insights and presentation within your panels.

If you choose your panel type to be a Bar Chart, you will be offered the following set of general settings:

General Settings

  • PANEL: Provide a name, and description for your panel.
  • DISPLAY: You can use the display setting to select different visualization of bar chart.
    • You can view the bar chart in vertical or horizontal placement
    • You can decide if the values have to be stacked or grouped

  • AXES: For the graphical representation of your query results, you can choose what type of data is represented by the X-axis and Y-axis in the chart.
    • X-Axis: Use the Date Style dropdown menu to choose from various date formats for the X-axis of the chart
    • Y-Axis: Use the Format dropdown menu to choose the relevant unit of data, for example, number, percentage, and duration (millisecond) to represent the data on the Y-axis. You can also use the additional options to modify the data on the Y-axis



  • LEGEND: You can customize how the query result data will be presented to you:
    • Select either the table view mode or the list view mode to view the query results.
    • Use the Values dropdown menu to select a function that will be used to aggregate the query result values.

  • TIME RANGE SETTINGS: Access time range settings for panels by clicking on Panel Settings > Time Range. Time Range Settings allow you to perform the following:
    • Override Dashboard Time Range - Individual panels can use their own time range configuration. You can use it to override the dashboard time range by enabling Override dashboard time range.
    • Time Shift - Shift a panel's start and end time by specifying a time shift expression. It supports the following:
      • Operators:
        • -: Subtract time (Required)
      • Units: Same units as Dashboard time range expressions.
