a custom metric dashboard can contain multiple panels, each displaying different custom metrics you can manage, organize, or group your dashboards in a way that makes the most sense to you you can view a list of all configured metric dashboards on the main screen of the metric dashboards section use the search bar in the top left corner to find a dashboard by name you can also switch the view from dashboards to folders using the toggle option in the top right corner dashboard settings you have specific permissions to custom dashboards based on your assigned role owner can create, edit, or delete a dashboard can edit or delete a folder developer can create, edit, or delete a dashboard can edit or delete a folder viewer can only view the dashboards and folders you can manage your dashboards from the dashboard settings screen from here, you can edit or delete a dashboard add a dashboard to a folder to navigate to the dashboard settings screen click the more options (three dot) icon next to the dashboard you want to manage click on edit click on the settings icon located in the top right corner edit or delete dashboard navigate to the dashboard settings screen and click on the general tab edit provide a relevant name and description for your dashboard add tags click on the save button delete click on the delete dashboard button add a variable in your dashboard you can add and manage variables in your dashboards variables are the placeholders for values you can add variables and use them directly in your queries variables will help you create dynamic dashboards by avoiding hard coding any specific values within queries use the following steps to add a variable to your dashboard navigate to the dashboard settings screen and click on the variables tab enter a name for the variable, and select the appropriate variable type select the query type where you will be using the variable, and then click on the save button once the variable has been added, you can use it by selecting the created variable in the panel query box and saving the new query add a dashboard to a folder you can create folders to group dashboards that are related or serve a similar purpose, making it easier to stay organized note creating a folder is not mandatory for creating dashboards standalone dashboards don't need to be added to a folder click on the create folder button in the main dashboard screen provide a relevant name and description for your folder and click on the create button navigate to the dashboard settings screen of the dashboard that you want to add to the folder select the folder you created from the folder dropdown menu click on the save button manage and modify panels you can view and resize panels by clicking the expand icon located at the bottom right corner of each panel sharing dashboards across workspaces you can now easily share and replicate dashboards in other workspaces how to share a dashboard open the dashboard you want to share click the options icon on the dashboard select the 'share' option this action copies the dashboard as a json link to your clipboard how to import a shared dashboard navigate to the dashboard section in the workspace where you want to replicate the dashboard click on the 'import' button paste the json you previously copied from the original dashboard confirm the import the dashboard will be recreated in the current workspace as a replica of the original related resources creating a dashboard kloudmate metrics
