Turn On MFA
Section titled “Turn On MFA”With MFA on, signing in asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app after your password.
- Open Settings -> Profile & Security.
- In Multi-factor Authentication, turn on Enable multi-factor authentication.
- Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or 1Password.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows, then click Verify.
- Copy the recovery code that appears and store it somewhere safe, such as your password manager.
When Your Organization Requires MFA
Section titled “When Your Organization Requires MFA”An organization can require MFA for its members. If you don’t have MFA yet, you set it up before you can enter that organization:
- If your password sign-in opens that organization, the setup comes right after your password. Scan the QR code, enter the 6-digit code, and copy the recovery code, which is shown only once. You’re then signed in.
- If you open that organization from another one, you see “Organization requires MFA. Set it up in Profile & Security.” Turn on MFA as described above, then open the organization again.
Sessions already open in that organization keep working. Organizations that don’t require MFA still let you in with your password alone.
If the setup has expired by the time you verify, which happens after 15 minutes, you go back to the sign-in page with a message. Sign in again to get a new setup.
If the organization your sign-in opens requires MFA, signing in with your recovery code takes you straight to the same setup step so you can register a new device.
Create a New Recovery Code
Section titled “Create a New Recovery Code”Create a new code if you’ve lost yours, or if the page shows No recovery code is set.
- Open Settings -> Profile & Security.
- Click New recovery code. If you don’t have one yet, the button reads Create recovery code.
- Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app, then click Generate.
- Store the new code. Your previous recovery code stops working.
Recover Access After Losing Your Device
Section titled “Recover Access After Losing Your Device”You need your password and your recovery code.
- Sign in with your email and password.
- When you’re asked for the MFA code, click Lost your device? Use a recovery code.
- Enter your recovery code and click Sign in. You can type it with or without its dashes.
- Turn MFA on again from Profile & Security with your new device. You’ll get a new recovery code.
Signing in with the recovery code turns MFA off, so your account has only password protection until you turn it back on.
If You Don’t Have a Recovery Code
Section titled “If You Don’t Have a Recovery Code”Email support@kloudmate.com from your account’s email address and say you’ve lost both your authenticator device and your recovery code. After support checks it’s you, they turn MFA off and you get an email confirming it. Sign in with your password, then turn MFA on again.
Turn Off MFA
Section titled “Turn Off MFA”- Open Settings -> Profile & Security.
- Click Disable MFA, then confirm.
Turning MFA off also removes your recovery code.
