KloudMate Metrics

NameDescriptionUnit
KloudMateIngestedMetricPointsNumber of metric data points ingested.Count
KloudMateIngestedTraceVolumeThe volume of traces ingested.Bytes
KloudMateIngestedSpanCountNumber of spans ingested.Count
KloudMateIngestedLogsVolumeThe volume of logs ingested.Bytes
KloudMateIngestedLogCountNumber of logs ingested.Count

All usage metrics have the following attributes:

  • workspaceId: ID of the workspace to which metrics were sent.
  • orgId: ID of the organization of the workspace to which metrics were sent.

These metrics count the calls behind each edge of the service map. KloudMate derives them from your traces, including traces from eBPF monitoring.

NameDescriptionUnit
KloudMateServiceMapRequestsNumber of requests from a source to a target.Count
KloudMateServiceMapFailedRequestsNumber of failed requests from a source to a target. A request counts as failed if a span on either side of the call has status.code 2.Count
KloudMateServiceMapDurationDuration of requests from a source to a target, as a histogram.Nanoseconds

All service map metrics have the following attributes:

  • source_service_name: The calling service. A caller that sends no telemetry is named after its Kubernetes workload, or incoming when it can’t be identified.
  • target_service_name: The called service, or the host name of a dependency that sends no telemetry, such as a database.
  • source_span_kind, target_span_kind: The span kind on each side of the call, such as Client and Server.
  • source_system, target_system: The kind of call on each side: http, db, messaging, service (RPC), or application.
  • edge_id: The edge, as <source>-><target>.
  • is_external: true when the target is outside your cluster, such as a third-party API. The service map hides these edges unless Show external dependencies is on.
